ABPCO unveils wi-fi check list at 25th anniversary annual conference

Following the round table debate on The Conference Cloud held in December, ABPCO unveiled a wi-fi check list at its 25th anniversary conference held at the Barbican in London at the end of January.

The document is a simple guideline intended to provide PCOs with key questions to discuss with clients and also provides a bullet-point check list of important considerations to raise with a venue. ABPCO aims to assist PCOs and venues to talk the same language when it comes to wi-fi requirements for events and is encouraging its members to use the document in discussions with clients, RFPs and site visits.

Michael Foreman, ABPCO Chair, commented: “The Conference Cloud debate in December highlighted that there is a genuine lack of understanding of the issues when it comes to the technical requirements and capabilities of a venue’s wi-fi network. What we have attempted with this document is to create a starting point for a clearer discussion between PCOs, clients and venues that will highlight any potential issues and enable a practical further discussion on extended technical requirements. This is not a white paper, merely a helpful prompt to put wi-fi on the agenda as a standard discussion point for the venue brief.”

A copy of the check list is available by contacting ABPCO on info@abpco.org.
